To implement the requirements on "May 15th National Investor Protection Promotion Day", Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE) held on May 16th an exchange meeting on investor education and protection training for members and the wrap-up of "investor service season". A total of 95 member units sent more than 140 investor education contact persons and representatives of business department investment consultants to participate in the event.

Recently, the CSRC announced the establishment of "May 15th National Investor Protection Promotion Day" and set up a long-term mechanism of investor protection and promotion education that is guided by regulatory departments, interlinked by competent authorities, duly responsible by the industry, and participated in by the public. In particular, member units, assuming a key role, are the main force and main front. SZSE will further play the role of market organizer to integrate resources and drive the formation of a joint force in investor education. Firstly, we will put into practice the Guideline on Membership Investor Education of Shenzhen Stock Exchange, strengthen the guarantee on investor education, normalize investor education standards, and enhance investor education basis to stimulate members' potential in investor education. Secondly, we will construct a membership sharing platform of investor education products to further improve the capability of serving members' investor education. Thirdly, we will work with members to promote the inclusion of investor education into national education system, develop learning resources that are adapted to students' needs and organize activities of bringing investor education into campuses, which will help elevate the nation's financial literacy from the source.

As per the CSRC work deployment on investor protection, SZSE took the opportunity of March 15 Consumer Protection Day and developed the serial events of 2019 Investor Service Season since March. Among them, one important piece of the event content is to widely collect video works on investor education from the public for the Micro-class of Investor Knowledge. The collection activity was actively responded by the member units, with a total of 275 video creations received from 81 members. The outstanding works have been displayed on such platforms as SZSE's official web, STCN.com, quanjing.com, Sina, Netease and Tencent. In just two weeks, those works generated more than 1.6 million visits. Through comprehensive evaluation from the dimensions of work quality, creative idea, education meaning and investor visits, 60 works were short-listed as the first, second, third and outstanding prizes.

At the exchange meeting, the serial achievements of the early Investor Service Season were exhibited and the outstanding video works for the Micro-class were commended. The SZSE 2019 Investor Service Season serial events gathered the industrial wisdom on investor education, attracted broad investors to participate, activated the initiative of both the supply and demand sides in investor education service, and amplified the coverage and influence of investor education publicity.

In the training part, SZSE invited the experts from CSRC Shenzhen Bureau to introduce some classic cases in the risk prevention and illegal operation of private funds. Also, SZSE organized internal experts to explain such contents as the system of investor suitability management rules, the mechanism of trading regulation work, and the classic cases of law violations. In addition, the experts answered members' questions on the hot issues. All these are to help members do well in investor education and services.

In recent years, SZSE has constantly consolidated the guidance, support and training for members and has worked with relevant units to hold three exchanges on membership investor education and protection training. Next, SZSE will continue to play its market organization function, perfect member training mechanism, enrich the content of investor education training, and beef up industrial investor education team building to keep guiding and standardizing investor education and protection.
