On January 15, SZSE held the Forum Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of its Founding & 2021 Working Conference. SZSE Party Secretary and Chairman Wang Jianjun addressed the conference. In strict accordance with the requirements on pandemic prevention and control, the conference was held on the spot with video links provided for sub-venues.

During the conference, the development course of SZSE in the past three decades was reviewed, development achievements and valuable experience were summed up, the future development blueprint was drawn, and the priorities of work for 2021 were laid out. It was pointed out that over the past three decades, SZSE has continuously served national strategies and the development of the real economy. It has vigorously promoted the development of the market, and is at the forefront of work exchanges in terms of the amount of stock financing, market activity, the number of newly listed companies, etc., and has become the most dynamic high-growth emerging market in the world. SZSE has adhered to serving innovation-driven development and the adjustment of economic structure. By promoting development through reform and seeking breakthroughs through innovation, SZSE has formed the base of the Shenzhen stock market with high-tech companies, growth innovation-oriented enterprises and startups as its principal part, and has become an important platform to support technological innovation and drive the transformation and upgrading of economic structure. SZSE has stuck to the market-oriented and rule-of-law-based development. It has earnestly performed self-disciplinary regulation duties, governed the market with transparency, and worked to build a “transparent exchange”. It showed zero tolerance for violations of laws and regulations, and adopted practical measures to protect investors’ legitimate rights and interests, becoming an important force facilitating the standardized development of the capital market. SZSE has maintained high-standard two-way opening-up. In advancing “bringing in” and “going global” efforts, SZSE has become an important window for opening-up of the Chinese capital market and an important bridge that allows international investors to participate in the innovation-oriented economic development of China. SZSE has kept moving ahead with technology-based development. It has remained on the path of technological development driven by independent R&D. With key technical indicators achieving the world’s advanced level, it has played an important role in supporting the safe and stable operation of the market.

As pointed out in the conference, the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee has laid down the blueprint for economic and social development for the 14th Five-year Plan period and has raised new and higher requirements on the development of the capital market. SZSE should, with courage, passion and vitality, take on responsibilities and put forth efforts to develop an inclusive and efficient innovation-based market system, a high-standard innovation capital circulation mechanism, a global asset allocation platform with the characteristics of an innovation-oriented market, and a targeted and effective regulation and risk control system. SZSE shall promote institutional and systematic high-standard two-way opening-up, and build a world-leading digital system, and a science-based and efficient exchange governance system. It should focus on cultivating and gathering a batch of world-class enterprises, first-rate intermediaries and top-ranking investment institutions, and strive to become a quality innovation capital center and world-class exchange.

It was emphasized at the conference that standing at the historic crossroad of the “Two Centenary Goals”, SZSE will develop a correct understanding of the new development phase, implement in depth the new development philosophy, and actively advance the building of the new development paradigm. It will continue to follow the Party’s leadership, keep pace with the times, implement reform and innovation, and do solid work and start new undertakings. Seizing great opportunities arising from the reform and development, SZSE will carry forward the spirits of endeavor, innovation, service and dedication, resolutely take the mission of innovation and development, and advance reform and expand opening-up at a higher starting point. It will steadily advance and deepen in all respects the reform of the capital market and the key tasks of the comprehensive authorization reform of the Shenzhen Pilot Demonstration Area of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics. SZSE will continue to strive toward the goal of becoming a quality innovation capital center and world-class exchange, write a new chapter about its business development, and pay attribute to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party with excellent performance.
