Leverage the Advantages of the Capital Market as a Platform to Deepen High-level Industrial Cooperation between China and ASEAN– SZSE and Bursa Malaysia Jointly Hold the 2021 China-Malaysia Online Cooperation Conference for the Electric Vehicle Industry

Date: 2021-06-10

On June 8, SZSE and Bursa Malaysia jointly held the 2021 China-Malaysia Online Cooperation Conference for the Electric Vehicle Industry. It is a pragmatic measure of the two exchanges to earnestly implement the requirements of the memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the two parties and continuously promote the high-level industrial cooperation between China and ASEAN countries. Three listed companies in Malaysia held online roadshows and connected with ten listed companies in China from relevant industries. Nearly 100 representatives from relevant Malaysian and Chinese industries and institutional investors participated in the conference online and had an in-depth discussion on deepening the two countries’ cooperation in industrial chains and supply chains.

In April 2020, under the framework of the memorandum of understanding on cooperation, SZSE and Bursa Malaysia launched the industry connecting service based on SZSE’s V-Next platform. Since then, the two exchanges have jointly held online roadshows, presentations, connecting events and discussions in the industries of electronics, biomedicine, software and internet, which have yielded good results. The online conference held on June 8 has given better play to the functions of the capital market as a platform. Based on the actual needs of the enterprises and institutional investors in Malaysia and China, it has provided professional, targeted services to characteristic segments, facilitating further integrated development of Malaysian and Chinese industrial chains.

In recent years, SZSE has been constantly expanding the cross-border capital market service chain. Based on the industrial, economic and trade cooperation and business cooperation needs between China and ASEAN countries, SZSE has signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with exchanges in eight ASEAN countries, with SZSE’s serves covering 28 listed companies and 60 startups in ASEAN. A cross-border capital service network that is based in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area and extends to cover ASEAN countries is gradually taking shape.

Next, SZSE will continue to follow the overall plan of China Securities Regulatory Commission, correctly seize the new development stage, fully apply the new development philosophy, and actively serve the formation of the new development pattern. We will steadily advance high-standard opening up and deepen pragmatic cooperation with the capital markets in the ASEAN as well as other countries and regions along the Belt and Road. We will refine the cross-border capital service mechanism and improve market cultivation service to strive to build SZSE into a quality innovation capital center and world-class exchange.
